Nana's Back!

My mom is back for a visit while Mike's parents are on vacation. It works out great that she can watch the kids on the days when I'm at work. She'll be staying at their condo here for 3 weeks (hopefully more!). Here's a picture from her last visit in Jan. and Feb. I love it whe she's here. We're looking forward to Grandad coming out here to join her a couple more weeks.

Ah... the Hair

Adam's hair is getting bigger and curlier all the time! It's so soft and cute that we just can't cut it! Jana on the other hand had been begging for a cut. The new cut looks great and she loves it! She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face while she was getting it cut. We think she looks taller and older. It's bitter-sweet to see her change.

Easter

We had a little Easter egg hunt at home and then went over to Gamma and Papa's house. We had a nice day together with them, Aunt Lisa, GG, and Great Uncle Jack. Jana and Adam were happy that the Easter bunny was able to find some candy with no corn or soy!

Fun with Syd!

Jana has a great time with her buddy across the street. They dyed eggs together at Easter and spend a lot of time together having fun!

Read Read Read Read....

Last August 2007 I started reading Harry Potter to Jana. She grew to love it like I do and I finished reading the 7th book to her in March 2008. I'm so proud of her ability to focus on the story and characters through months of reading. It really blows me away that she understood every subtle plot turn and anticipated many of the story elements. I asked her the other day to take some pictures of her favorite things and she snapped this photo of her Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book.

She has also started reading herself. She was so ecstatic to be reading her first chapter book in April that we just had to get a picture!

Here's a picture of Adam reading to his tiger too!

Fun with the Winders

It's been a long time since I posted anything! Since Adam's B-day, we've been spending time with family and friends. Here are some pictures of us with our friends at the zoo.

We had a great time riding on the train and carousel. Mike and Keven really bonded.
The boys are starting to remember eachother and become good little friends!

Jana on the Slopes

We've discovered that Jana is a great skier! She's confident and tough and has a blast with Mike on the slopes.
Next year I'll have to join them!

Adam's 2nd Birthday

When we ask Adam how old he is he smiles and says "3 !" We're betting he's going to be class clown. Adam had a lot of fun at his birthday party. He was a little nervous about Gymbo at first but warmed up by the end.
He started running around right away and was into all of the games.
My mom, Diane, and I made a homemade basketball cake. Jana ate two pieces, so I think it was a success. We were glad so many of Adam's friends were able to come and play with us. Happy Birthday Adam!!!!!!!! We Love You!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas

Christmas this year was fun. Tara's parents were both here for Christmas Eve. We had a nice dinner and the kids got a lot of great stuff... Wiggle cars, a puppet show, and a tugging puppy.

We Spent Christmas day with Mike's family where the kids got more great stuff and we had another nice dinner! Adam got trucks, Diego Toys, and a motorized quad. Jana got a pogo stick, drawing software, and a crayola cutter.

Our Emergency Thanksgiving !

Our Thanksgiving plans changed at the last minute this year. We ended up having Mike's sister Lisa over and making Thanksgiving dinner at our house. Jana created a new Twister tradition and we had a little dance party too. Adam was happy all day and played Twister his own way. We picked up the turkey and other ingredients from Mike's parents Thursday morning. Our friend had dropped off a pie on Wednesday and it was a good thing we had it. Amazingly, dinner turned out to be really good and we had a lot of fun.
